Starting from one Group in the country area of Tamworth, the NSW Floral Art Association now encompasses 10 Groups and Clubs from all over NSW. Three Contemporary Floral Design Groups (CFD) take place in Glen Innes, the Sydney area and Kempsey on the Mid North Coast. These were formed to fill a need for the members wishing to experiment with leading trends which have become popular worldwide. NSWFAA have run six seminars, and in 2009 the committee ran a very successful International Flower Show, Flora Australis, in conjunction with ABC Gardening Expo at Sydney Olympic Park. This encompassed the best of the best floral art from Australia and overseas, with Master Floral Designer Gregor Lersch from Germany being a great impact and drawcard. The Association run four meetings a year, in different locations of the State, activities at the meetings include Demonstrations by top profile floral designers, competitions, training courses in Demonstrating and Judging, and meeting with fellow Floral Artists to share this most interesting hobby of floral designing. New members are always welcome. |
